Should video games be cheaper?

In Did you know that ...

We’ve all wandered at some point why isn the digital version of the video game cheaper than the physical one? it’s been a year since the game you want to purchase has been released, yet the price is still the same, but if you look for the physical edition you will find that it is cheaper.

During the last couple of years, there have been more vdeo game releases, so which way will the consumer choose to buy them? Most people choose to purchase whilst being in their homes, but there are those who want to seek the box for their collection. Digital or physical edition of the game, the cost of its design and development will still be the same.

Then why do we pay the same when we buy the digital version which has no distribution costs?

One of the reasons is the marginalization of the middleman. Back in the old days, in order to get the game you would have to go to the physical store, but if you wait for a lil’ while the game’s price would drop since the store would want to bring in the newest games. Nowadays, you just need a credit card to make the videogames yours, add to cart and done! This way the publsihers of the game have the ultimate control over its price and consequently the developers of the game that you enjoy have a larger profit.

It was worth to mention that many games have a sky-high starting price, during the sales it is a good opportunity to acquire it .

So what do you think? Should the price be the same or not?
