Your phone recognizes you

Each one of us uses his/hers phone in a unique way, which is more than enough for your device to recognize you! The apps that we use, the time and way we use them are some elements your phone can collect and create your “id”. A group of researchers created a model that can recognize if the user of the device is its owner through the apps that he uses combined with the the way and time he spends using them.

The research collected app usage data from the people who participated in it, which were more that enough to form a pattern of usage for each one. This user-device identification method could be applied in law forces. Imagine if someone stole your phone and you had no way to identify them, but the way they use your phone gives them away?
