Twenty-two years ago, the first USB with a capacity of just 8MB revolutionized the field of file storage and transfer.

A few years earlier, companies such as Intel, Compaq, Microsoft and IBM wanted to develop a standard port for connecting devices to a computer. This project was successfully completed and in 1998 the USB port was introduced. The next step was to develop a device that would allow easy solution to save and transfer of data. Until then, floppy drives, CDs and DVDs served this purpose.

There is a lot of controversy about which company was the first to conceive the idea of ​​the USB Flash Drive, design, develop and release the final product. Dov Moran is considered the father of the USB Flash Drive, however the copyright of the USB stick was claimed by 4 companies, the Israeli M-Systems, the Chinese Netac, the giant of IBM and Trek as the release of USB from the above companies became the same period.

Over the next 3 years, USB dominated the market, eliminating all other file storage methods. From 2000 until today, we have seen their capacity go up as user requirements are increasing with a maximum of 2TB!
