The first cellphone weighed 2 kgs!

The first cell phone was made in 1973, nearly 100 years after the first call ever made by Alexander Graham Bell. If you think about it, it’s not that old compared to the years humans have landline phones. The company to achieve the creation of the first cellphone is Motorola. Motoral DynaTAC 8000Χ was available for purchase in 1983. The price was up to $4000 and the device weighed almost 2 kgs. Furthermore, in order to achieve full charge it had to be charging for 10 hours and it offered up to 30 minutes (!) of usage.

On April 3rd 1973 Martin Cooper, Motorola’s employee placed the first cellpone call. When he was asked about what he said during the first cellphone call, he said that he doesn’t remember exactly but he said something like ” I’m just calling to see if it sounds good on your end”.
